Festivities

We’d love for you to join us in the Tai Chi Gala festivities.

Ongoing Activities

Push Hands Space

A pushing hands space will be available during the Tai Chi Gala for those who respectfully and peacefully want to push hands or engage in “sticky hands,” or similar. Take the opportunity to practice with a wide variety of like-minded people to test and sharpen your skills!

Special Healing Room

A special cabin will be reserved for attendees to hire professional therapists of the healing arts, such as massage, reiki, etc.  There will be bunks for you to also just relax, write notes/art/poetry, take a quick nap or silent meditation, a moment of prayer or contemplation… and to serve as a place to give or receive a concentrated dose of pure, healing energy.

Vending Area and Social Meeting Space

The grand dining hall will serve as our headquarters all weekend!  There, you can register, check-in, vend, purchase unique items from vendors, enjoy your meals, and meander around to meet likeminded folks.  You never know WHO you may meet!

June 2 ~ Friday

Taoist Incense Ceremony

Interactive Taoist Incense Offering and Opening Ceremonies

You can watch, or participate in, an authentic Taoist Incense ceremony to connect with the energy of past teachers/people who have influenced your practice or path of self development.  In this moment of gratitude, people of all beliefs are welcome (and will be shown how) to place an incense stick of sacred herbs.  You are welcome to bring a small photo or momento of those you wish to remember and place it on a memorial altar.  The Opening Ceremonies begin with an incense offering to the deceased original founder of our event, Master Jou Tsung Hwa, and the legendary founder of tai chi (and Taoist arts master) from the Ming Dynasty, Zhang San Feng.

Awards Dinner and Demos

Welcome to our “Awards of Honor” Dinner. Tournament awards are not the only things that deserve recognition.  What about a teacher or student who made an impact on their community or another’s life?  What about someone who did something unique in their practice?  What about creativity?  Let’s celebrate those merits and achievements too!  Join our mailing list on the homepage.  Email us your nominations AND unique award categoried that YOU think deserve to be honored!  The dinner and award medals are provided FREE to all registered attendees.  Those not attending, if awarded, can have their medal shipped personally to their home for a $15 shipping and handling fee. Awards recipients will be featured on a webpage for the year, AFTER the Tai Chi Gala.

Chinese Tea Ceremony

Dating back several centuries, the rare “Gongfu Tea Ceremony” of China was once only a privilege of scholars and special masters.  You will imbibe teas, some extrememly rare and expensive, prepared in a way unlike any other, by the hands of Tea Master, Shifu Ken Lo.  Due to the extraordinary cost of procuring these rare teas, if you wish to participate, please have $35 cash on hand to cover these materials and participate in the ceremony. Others may observe for free without sitting at the tables and having tea.  You will be amazed at the seemingly magical alchemical effects that these special teas bestow, and the meditative effects they can encourage.  A taste of ancient China…

Tug of War to Test Your Rooting Skills!

If you learned anything about tai chi push hands or rooting skills, NOW is a GREAT TIME to test it!!!  Let’s see who wins!  Be a kid again and play!  We’ll have a fun and friendly game of tug-of-war!  What a great way to wrap up the Tai Chi Gala and Intuitive Arts Retreat – let those smiles and laughter usher in a lot of happy energy and memories for the remainder of your year!

Group Energy Qi Power and Healing Circle

The energy and power of a group is greater than the individual.  And so, with all those participating a lot of qi and healing energy can be generated.  In this led healing session, you can step into the middle of the circle and be “blasted” with a ray of positive and powerful healing energy.  Everyone is welcome and supported in an atmosphere of concentrated minds and the purity of the surrounding nature.  Take advantage of this opportunity to be part of, and receive the benefits of, a concentrated circle of healing qi and light.  This will be the last activity of the weekend as we close this year’s amazing Tai Chi Gala.  Don’t miss it!
